Eightball.ie in association with Belltable Unfringed 2009 present Jarlath Regan

Jarlath first stood on stage in 2004 when he was selected as a finalist in the BBC and Channel 4 new comedy awards at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Although he failed to win the competitions that introduced the world to Tommy Tiernan, Dylan Moran and David O’Doherty he quickly became a hot ticket at the Fringe. His debut solo Edinburgh show “Nobody Knows…Jarlath Regan” earned rave reviews from the Scotish press (“The wittiest, funniest lines you will ever see” Edinburgh Hairline) and was the subject of a documentary series on TV3. His 2008 show was a sell-out and earned him more stars than a milky way.

In 2006 / 2007 he supported Ardal O’Hanlon, Jason Byrne and David O’Doherty their tours of Ireland. Jarlath wowed the expectant crowds and earned him an invitation to take part in the Kilkenny Cat Laughs Comedy Festival and the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal where he appeared alongside Tommy Tiernan in the first ever “Best of Irish” televised gala.

Jarlath Regan has hosted and performed at corporate events for some of Ireland’s top companies including Arthur Cox Solicitors, Shell and BMW Ireland. His brand of clean, good-natured observational comedy has seen him become one of the most popular headline acts in comedy clubs throughout Ireland; earn invitations to the Montreal, Edinburgh and Kilkenny Comedy Festivals; and support Neil Delemare, Ardal O’Hanlon, Des Bishop and Jason Byrne on their Irish tours. The Irish Times calls him a “comedy genius”; Hot Press says, “he is the best young talent in Dublin…. brilliant, definitely one to watch.”

Jarlath Jarlath talks tough when he gets hungry but has never been in a fistfight, he enjoys underestimating things to increase the level of excitement in his life, and drives himself to shows in his black Ford Mondeo, pretending to be an undercover policeman by day. His show on Friday February 7th is going to be funny. He can’t help himself.
