Flinders plays ARTiculate | Baker Place | Wednesday December 03 

Flinders is the musical brainchild of a Galway native, Philip Flynn. His sound is influenced by grunge and brit-pop, from Elbow and Eliot Smith to Iron & Wine via Radiohead. Blending looped vocals and guitar parts, pulsating rhythms, hypnotic baselines and a soaring lead vocal line to create a unique sound, honed through an array of live performances, this is his first visit to Limerick and well worth making time for.

Making a much sweeter sound than any gaggle of french hens are Derby Browne, Susannah de Wrixon and Annie Redmond as they Chatanooga-Choo- Choo on stage in the Millenium Theatre, bringing the sound of 1940’s nostalgia to Christmas ‘08.  This show also features Cormac Kenevy as Bing Crosby, Swing Dancing with the Vaudevill Vamps and music from The Moonlight Swing Orchestra,  this night will  set your Christmas spirit soaring.

The Little Red Fox is afraid. Trouble has come to the Green Wood and the Green Man, the guardian of the forest, has fallen into a mysterious sleep. The Little Fox must over come his fears and confront the danger that is threatening his forest, as only with the Little Fox’s help can the Green Man restore the balance. Using Marionette, shadow and glove puppeteers Dandelion Seed Puppet Theatre tell an enchanting tale bringing the audience on an intriguing journey where a lost little fox cub finds courage and new friends on his quest to save his home. Suitable for children aged 6-10 it will make a lovely tale to warm your heart for Christmas.

To mark the end of LSAD’s first term, Schnitzel Comedy and Mach Schau are getting together with late night stalwart Indie Nation for a huge party. Early on it’s the comedy party with Tony Law and from 11pm enjoy the hard rocking but sweet as you dream Dublin quartet Dirty Epics working their unique punky sound; solid drums and bass, driving guitars, powerful vocals and a kick ass sexy front woman makes for an eye popping live show.

Munster v Clermont Auvergne | Thomond Park with After Party in Trinity Rooms | Saturday December 13

The legend continues; Munster’s incredible performance and  painfully narrow defeat in the much anticipated All Blacks rematch at Thomond Park gave rugby fans and the general public plenty to relive for decades to come. In a game watched by over 1 million T.V viewers worldwide Thomond Park was officially openened with a ceremony that will not quickly be forgotten. The season continues as Munster focus on the game at hand when they take on Clermont Auvergne on December 13th in Thomond Park with an after party in Trinity Rooms.

Talisman Theatre present  A Fairytale Christmas & A Christmas Carol | UCH |  Monday December 15 

Something to keep your own little elves amused as Talisman Theatre bring two brilliant Christmas Shows to  UCH. A Fairytale Christmas follows Cinderella and her fairytale friends as they work to foil the villains who are holding Santa Claus for ransom. A Christmas Carol is a charming and delightful reworking of Dicken’s classic story about Ebenezer Scrooge and his visiting ghosts. Festive fun for all ages.

DJ Leonie & Tony Roche | Mickey Martin’s | Saturday Decemebr 27 

Limerick record spinner Leonie returns for a rare hometown turn at the tables and is joined in the partymaking by percussionist Tony Roche. Mickey Martin’s in Augustinian Lane hosts the duo who will get you moving with deep house, funk and soul and a healthy side of live drumming.

Karl Spain’s Annual Christmas | Dolan’s Warehouse | Sunday December 28 

Karl Spain’s annual Christmas is here again as he returns with Bernard O’ Shea, Michael Downey and the incredible Reuben for a night of high jinx and lots of laughs. Karl is well known around these parts with a rising profile on the national and international comedy circuit. His appearances on The Panel and The Late Late Show and the fact that he is a darn funny guy have all aided this rise.  Karl will be giving any profit made to charity. So do come along and help some good causes but let Karl take all the credit for it.

Snow White is officially the prettiest girl in the Kingdom. That’s according to mirrormirror.com, her evil stepmother’s website. Her stepmother, who happens to be the Queen, isn’t a bit happy. Neither is Sir Sydney the Squeamish who has taken Snow White into the woods to kill her. The seven dwarfs, on the other hand, are very happy ‘cos Snow White is prepared to be their house keeper (for a small fee!)
