Eightball.ie proudly presents Bell X1 Acoustic Tour at the LIT Millenium Theatre on Saturday, October 25, 2008.
Bell X1 return to Limerick as part of an intimate acoustic tour of Ireland in October and November, visiting places never played, or not played for a long time, and playing some new tunes along with all the firm favourites…
They will be performing all of these shows as an acoustic 3-piece band, with Brian Crosby about to play his last shows with the band in Vicar Street in November after a perfect 15 years. As curator and producer of The Cake Sale project, which went twice platinum and raised €250,000 for Oxfam, Brian was bitten by the studio bug and has gone on to make music for TV and radio. Having juggled this work with band life for the past few years, he’s gone forward to concentrate on film scoring and producing, with the best wishes of his former band mates ringing in his ears.
The band’s acoustic tour takes in little rooms all around the country, including The Pavillion in Cork, Electric Avenue in Waterford, De Barra’s in Clonakilty and The Spirit Store in Dundalk, landing in LIT right in the middle of the tour.
While things seem to have been comparatively quiet this year for Bell X1 if you judge them on the home front, following sell out shows in the Point and Malahide Castle in 2007, they have been beavering away internationally and making fantastic headway abroad.
Sold-out tours of the US along with TV performances on everything from Letterman to Conan O’Brien and Craig Ferguson have successfully combined with the release of their multi-platinum Irish release, Flock, on US independent label Yep Roc to give them a very real foundation for the release of their new album in 2009. Not to mention highly successful touring in Europe both in their own right and as Special Guests to Nada Surf and David Ford.
