Limerick comedian Karl Spain came on to the scene in 2000 when he was named best new comedian by broadcaster RTE, and he is now well established on the UK and Irish circuits. He appeared as part of the Irish show at the Montreal Just For Laughs festival in 2003 and is a regular at Kilkenny’s Cat Laughs comedy festival.

The following year he performed at festivals around the world including Australia, Kilkenny and he made his solo debut at the Edinburgh festival with ‘Spain, Ireland and Beyond’ to wide acclaim. In 2005, he made his own RTE show, Karl Spain Wants A Woman, trying various ways of meeting a potential girlfriend.
