Now almost the grandfather of the Irish scratchin and rappin scene, DJ Mek returns to Limerick for one of the Cheebah Friday nights in December. Previous vists have generated a healthy fan base for Meks unique selections which constantly reaffirm what true Hip hop is. As a true old school player his selections are busy conversations between Reggae, Funk, Electro, Rock,and 80’s Classics, and of course in these days of Laptop Djs, Mek keeps it strictly vinyl.

Well respected across the water with many DJ competition awards under his belt, Mek,s work as a producer has led him to work with amongst others, Suggs of Madness, Rapper Rodney P, Reggae Star Sweetie Irie and has just recently turned in a remix for Ian Brown. Sinead O’Connor has named him as her favorite DJ.
